The services in the Pagateq testing laboratory
We offer you a wide range of possibilities!

Our functional test standard includes exactly the testing you need for an approval. We offer the execution of a complete functional test run according to the specifications of the German Banking Industry Committee (DK), nexo standards or EMVCo to obtain an approval.
After completion of the test run, you will receive a detailed result report from us. Depending on the results, further test runs may be necessary. In order to obtain an approval, a positive final report must be sent to the certification body. We will decide together with you when it makes sense to send such a report.
Functional test during development
During a development-accompanying function test, you have the opportunity to put your terminal or software through its paces. A consulting function test employee is at your side and regularly provides you with results. Our test tools are at your disposal and software updates are possible at any time.
The scope of the test can be individually tailored to your needs. You decide whether you want single days or a complete test scope. We will be happy to help you determine the optimum scope for you during a project discussion.
Consultation without a test tool
This product includes pure advisory services without test tools, in person or on the phone, on all topics related to payment transactions. We are also happy to visit you on site for this purpose.
Use of our online simulation (OSim)
Our online simulation (OSim) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The connection is very easily established via VPN.
The following authorisation systems are available for you:
Authorisation system girocard
Personalisation Unit
Area Headquarters GA for EMC national and international

Direct host connection (GICC)
Direct terminal connection (TAI)
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
DK Approval: Starting with the enquiry all the way to the positive report to the German Banking Industry Committee
The first step in the approval procedure of the German Banking Industry Committee (DK) is the registration of the systems to be approved.
DK registration takes place via the DK Approval Manager. This is where the properties of the system to be tested are made available on the basis of a registration form. To access the Approval Manager, the interested party must be registered with the DK approval office.
We are happy to support you throughout the registration process.
At the same time, you can apply for the function test in our testing laboratory. For this we need some information from you. Based on the information you provide, we will be happy to prepare an offer for you. In addition to the functions to be tested and the price, this will also include the dates for installation, the start of the test and your results report. In addition, we will send you our documentation "Technical Requirements" alongside our offer, so that you have all the information you need to prepare the tests in the best possible way.
The offer and the performance of the functional test are based on our General Terms and Conditions (only in german).
In any case, a production-ready end device must be presented in the functional test.
After completion of the test, we will provide you with a results report. If deviations from the current specification were found during the test, these will be listed in detail in the report.
In order to obtain a positive final report on the functional test, further test runs may be necessary in case of serious deviations. Provided that the versions of hardware and software do not change due to the adjustments made, you do not have to submit new documents. Otherwise, please notify us of the new hardware and software versions in writing.
If the functional test is completed positively and the final registration is available, a corresponding report is made available to the German Banking Industry Committee. This final report, along with other registration documents if applicable, serves as the foundation for the decision on registration by the DK.
Further information on the German Banking Industry Committee's approval process can be found in the GBIC Approval Scheme.

girocard
In order to be able to accept girocard payments in retail, two things are needed: an approved payment terminal and an approved network provider who takes care of processing the payments and submitting them into the payment traffic.
In order to ensure the integrity of the "girocard" payment system, the German Banking Industry Committee has defined technical and security requirements which the systems to be approved must meet. These requirements are laid down in the document "Technischer Anhang zum Vertrag über die Zulassung als Netzbetreiber im electronic-cash-System der deutschen Kreditwirtschaft".
Part of the approval requirements are functional tests that the components to be approved must pass:
girocard terminal function test
Type approval is provided for the terminal function test, independent of the interface to the host of the network provider. The "Type Approval Interface (TAI)" is used as the online interface.
Usually the terminal function test is completely covered by the test of a POS terminal (EMV debit/credit).
girocard host function test
The focus of the girocard host function test is the host of the network provider and its interfaces to the systems of the credit banking industry. It is assumed that the tested interfaces behave identically independent of a terminal. The provision of a suitable terminal is required during the host function test.
The successfully completed girocard host function test is a prerequisite for the execution of an integration function test.
girocard integration function test
During the integration function test, the interaction between the terminal and the host of the network provider is tested. Therefore, it is only executed when a host and a terminal function test have already been successfully completed. The object of the integration function test are the properties that were not subject to the terminal and host function test.
A network provider must perform an integration function test for each type of terminal (e.g. attended, unattended terminal, TOPP) that they intend to use.
If requested, we will be happy to send you the documentation necessary for the preparation of the test.

ATMs
The German credit banking industry's ATM system allows both national and international bank customers to withdraw funds using a card at German automated teller machines (ATMs). Therefore, these must comply with both national and international requirements.
The requirements of the German Banking Industry Committee ("Rules and Regulations for the German ATM System") are therefore the foundation for the approval of an ATM in Germany. Functional tests are also mandatory for approval in this environment. We can offer you the following tests.
Functional test "ATM 2019"
This product applies to ATMs seeking a new registration under the 2019 ATM Agreement.
In order to make the process and the scope of the functional test more comprehensive for you, we have divided the functional test - based on the description of the systems in the specification - into several sections. For further information, please contact us. We will be happy to help you!
"EMVCo Level 2 Approval for ATMs"
The functional test "EMVCo Level 2 Approval for ATMs" includes the verification of the following interfaces in the same way as for POS terminals:
Chip card interface
Customer interface
Interface to the authorisation system.
Of course, we also offer you a complete package for both tests. We will be happy to send you the necessary documents if you decide to apply for the functional test.
We will work together with you to draw up an individual project plan for your test at our facility or on site at your premises. Feel free to contact us!
EMV debit and credit
This is a joint approval procedure between the German Banking Industry Committee (DK) and the acquirers. In this way, it was possible to integrate the requirements of the international card companies (Mastercard, Visa, JCB, American Express, Discover and UnionPay) and to cover the different requirements of debit and credit card systems. This reduces the testing workload for you.
The following subjects of approval have been defined in the joint approval procedure, for each of which a type approval can be acquired:
POS terminal (EMV debit/credit)
Host system (EMV debit/credit)
Test subject POS terminal
Since this is a type approval, the functional tests must be carried out one time using a unified online interface. A test interface, known as TAI (Terminal Type Approval Interface) for short, was defined for this purpose. All terminals must support this interface for the terminal function test.
The scope of the functional test is specified by the central test case catalogue defined by the DK. A possible recognition of an already issued EMVCo Level 1 and Level 2 approval can lead to a reduction of the functional test. In addition, the end-to-end tests of the acquirers must be carried out.
For optimal preparation of the function tests, we have created the document Technical Requirements EMV-POS_Terminal. It describes special arrangements for the terminal that are necessary for carrying out the tests.
Test subject host system
The central element of the host function test is the host system with its interfaces to the authorisation systems / acquiring processors. The scope of the function test is specified by the central test case catalogue defined by the acquirers. During the realisation of the function test, the provision of a suitable terminal is required.
In order to ensure the best possible support for you in preparing the tests, we have created the document "Technical requirements EMV-POS Host". It describes special preparations of the host system as well as the terminal that are necessary for carrying out the tests.
EMVCo
Since January 2006, we have been an EMVCo-certified testing laboratory for Level 2 function tests. We can therefore carry out the Level 2 function tests for the following terminal types
ATMs (GA)
POS-terminals
For the function test, we use the latest version of the "EVAL" test environment. The mapping of the online authorisation responses is done by our self-developed online simulation "OSim", which has proven itself in many DK approval procedures.
The approval procedure has been strictly regulated by EMVCo. If you are planning a Level 2 functional test, early contact with us would be beneficial. This way we can support you in the best possible way right from the start.
In order to better estimate the scope of testing, please send us the current EMVCo Implementation Conformance Statement (ICS) form filled out by you.
With the evaluation of the ICS, it is possible for us to create an ideal, individual offer for you.
NEXO- Test
Since January 2015, we have also been certified by CFCF (Common Functional Certification Framework) and can therefore offer you the execution of POI functional tests. For this purpose, we use the current version of the FIS Global test environment.
In order to be able to estimate the scope of testing correctly, please send us the current "Implementation Conformance Statement (ICS)" form from CFCF filled out by you.
With the evaluation of the ICS, it is possible for us to create an ideal, individual offer for you.
